Around 2011, Alex (Kathryn Newton) video clips her younger brother Wyatt's football match. At Alex's house, she shows her beau Ben (Matt Shively) the treehouse in the garden. Here they discover Robbie, the neighbor's child. Puzzled as to why he or she is there, she takes him back to his own house throughout the street. In the early hours from the next morning, Alex hears an ambulance exterior at Robbie's house. That day, Robbie turns up with the house after Alex's momma Holly (Alexondra Lee) offered to look after him for a few days, while Robbie's mother can be admitted to hospital.
