The first series spans both years before the Great War beginning with news from the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, which sets the history in motion. The second series covers time 1916 to 1919, and the 2011 Holiday Special covers the 1919 Seasonal period, ending in early 1920.<<BR>><<BR>>Downton Abbey is your British television series coproduced by Carnival Films in the uk and WGBH Boston while in the U. S. It is set around the fictional estate of Downton Abbey within the North Riding of Yorkshire, England, and features an set of clothing cast. It was written principally through Julian Fellowes, who co-created it with Gareth Neame. It premiered on ITV upon 26 September 2010 and also on PBS on on the lookout for January 2011.<<BR>><<BR>>Reception of the system was predominantly positive; ratings were extremely high for what the heck is usually considered a melodrama, and the first series picked up a good number of awards and nominations once its initial run. On 3 November 2011, ITV confirmed that another series had been commissioned. The third series is in production for sent out on 16 September 2012 upon ITV and in January 2013 on PBS.<<BR>><<BR>>At the preview on the second series at Highclere Castle on 29 July 2011, it was announced that Fellowes was taking care of a third series, set during the Roaring Twenties. The series will open in 1920 and cover eighteen months. ITV confirmed the commissioning on the third series on several November 2011. The series entered production in early 2012, began filming in Feb 2012, Downton Abbey will come back to ITV1 on Sunday, 16 September and it will eventually air in north america beginning 6 January 2013.
